I was chatting with a friend today and his heart is bursting because his daughter was accepted at the college she wanted most. He’s a good friend who has brought much goodness and joy into my life. He’s always supportive, always positive. He’s had some dark days as of late, but he’s never stopped encouraging me in spite of his own struggles. He remains hopeful, always. He is exactly the kind of person I want in my life. He is the stuff good friends are made of.
“I’m so proud of her! My heart is ready to explode!”
“I love seeing you so happy!”
“Yep. This is such a ray of sunshine in the darkness.”
“I’m so glad. You’ve been a ray of sunshine in my darkness.”
“Really? Good! Sunshine pushes back the clouds for more sunshine!”
“So true! I’ve never heard that quote.”
“I just said it!”
“I’m going to put it in my book and you’ll be famous!”
“That would be funny!”
